Aam Aadmi Party and Kejriwal Jokes

December 29th, 2013
Why AAP & Kejriwal are Cronies of Congress
Kumar Viswas is planning to fight election from Amethi and invites Narendra Modi to fight from there too. In its earliest plans, AAP declared that it will fight elections from all Loksabha Seats in Gujarat; at many places probably it won’t even have an office or registered members. I don’t know what kind of politics this is – as if some kind of sport is going on.

In my opinion, fighting elections is an eligibility test to serve the public after coming to power. A candidate should first earn the respect and trust of local people and then ask for votes. Rahul Gandhi has visited Amethi many times, he knows local people and has done ground work and hence fights election from there which is fair. But this idea of parachuting candidates into alien locations – just for the sake of fighting elections sounds either innocent joke or signs of some serious plan. It seems AAP should fight from all seats in Gujarat so that it can swallow votes of some urban voters which would otherwise go to the BJP. These are the reasons why people suspect that AAP has done some deal with Congress.

Kejriwal asking Gadkari to produce proof of secret deal is like pot calling kettle dark. Before assembly elections result AAP had claimed that BJP was trying to buy some of its candidates – when asked for proof, AAP produced nothing. In case of sting operation against AAP when AAP got the proof it got the proof analyzed by its own members who declared their own party innocent. It is not a crime to make deals in politics and hence proof won’t change a thing and send none to the jail.
If AAP has not done any secret deal with Congress, let it prove the same by sending some of Congress’ corrupt ex-ministers to the jail, which Kejriwal had famously promised before and after elections. That is his litmus test. Otherwise as of now he is just another crony of Congress.

Why AAP is Congress’ B-Team
Kejriwal said “Both BJP and Congress are corrupt”. But the fact is that even Kejriwal could not find even a single case of corruption against BJP’s Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
Kejriwal said “You have seen what both BJP and Congress govts have given you”. But the fact is that a voter of 18 years today was not even born when last BJP govt came to power in 1993. A voter of 30 was a 10 year old kid in 1993. People in 2013 were voting for/against BJP of 2013 led by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, but Kejriwal was trying to fool people with his hoax “you have already seen BJP”.
Kejriwal said “AAP is fighting both BJP and Congress”. But it appears that AAP was fighting only BJP, since the trend in Rajasthan, MP, CG clearly tell that Cong was getting thrown out anyway, whether there was a party called AAP or not. Another statistic proves it – It was BJP which lost max seats by smallest margins, thanks to AAP.
It is a very old war strategy – if you can’t win, at least ensure that your opponent does not win. On these lines, Congress has succeeded only in Delhi and that is because of AAP. Still AAP supporters don’t understand why they are called “Cong’s B Team”?
Kejriwal proves an old saying “If all you have is a hammer, everything looks a nail to you.” Since Kejriwal’s competence is only in calling others corrupt, everyone looks corrupt to him.

How would TN Seshan Judge Kejriwal?
TN Seshan had asked voters to select our candidates as if we were selecting our son-in-law; meaning: don’t take chances, look for competence and proven track record. I wonder if those who vote for Kejriwal satisfy the ‘Seshan Test’? They ask us to vote for Kejriwal:

(1) Since Kejriwal is inexperienced (it’s like marrying off your daughter to a juvenile);
(2) Since Kejriwal quit his job to join politics (it’s like marrying off your daughter to an unemployed);
(3) Since he could desert Anna Hazare for principles (it’s like marrying off your daughter off to a serial-divorcee)
(4) Since he can call names to Robert Vadra (it’s like marrying off your daughter to a mad man)
Any other reasons to vote for AAP in Delhi; when we have an offer from a person like Dr. Harsh Vardhan?

AAPology to Apology
Everyone considered Kejriwal a Political-Juvenile. But when he was able to jump 18, we thought finally, he had learnt to fly! But alas, 16 of his 18 backfired and looks he had made very honest mistakes with those! And he was so busy “talking” to camera, that he did not even read the letter from Congress! So we were all fooled “unconditionally”! Looks like now we have some serious competition for ‘Stupidest Indian Politician Award’ between R Gandhi and A Kejriwal!
16 of the 18 points didn’t need House; also nothing comes “unconditional”:

Kejriwal Vs Taslima Nasreen
In 2007, a Mullah had put fatwa on Taslima Nasrin’s head for her pro-women statements. Before Delhi assembly elections, AAParty’s cult-leader Arvind Kejriwal met the same Mullah asking him to take part in his election campaign. Taslima Nasreen writes a Tweet criticizing Kejriwal for this meeting. An FIR is filed against her for hurting the sentiments of people.
Now she has to approach Supreme Court to get out of this aam-aadmi mess:

Why Only AAP Can be Right
Kiran Bedi is a source of inspiration for millions of Indian women and she has sacrificed her whole life for the benefit of Indian public fighting politicians. But since she did not take Kejriwal’s offer to join AAP and kept her loyalty with Anna Hazare, AAP supporters call her “BJP’s agent”.
Ex- Indian Army Chief V.K. Singh sacrificed his whole life to protect our borders and keep Army clean. But since he chose not to hail Kejriwal and remained loyal to Anna Hazare, Kejriwal’s men publically humiliated him interrupting his speech and call him “BJP’s agent”.
Social activist Padm Bhushan Anna Hazare achieved something which everyone only talks about and few do something – village reforms and has given entire life for the people; but since he remained on his original fight for Lokpal and did not join politics, AAP supporters call him a BJP/RSS man.
So it seems anyone who does not wear AAP’s Topi (which they shamelessly copied from Anna-Topi) becomes “BJP’s agent” by default. And merely being a Bharatiya Janata Party supporter is a Certificate of one being politically motivated and not to be taken seriously, but if you are politically motivated to benefit Kejriwal somehow, it is taken as sign of sheer enlightenment. Idea is that truth and correctness are exclusive rights of AAP supporters and all others can go to hell!
But the fact is that while Kiran Bedi, V K Singh and Anna Hazare are achievers and source of inspirations for Indians, AAP & Kejriwal survive and find inspirations only in criticizing and finding faults in others!

How Kejriwal and AAP are Copy-Cats
Now Kejriwal is calling Anna Hazare “misguided” because Anna is supporting Lokpal Bill being brought with amendments. It is classic case of a pot calling kettle black. First, this whole JAN Lokpal Movement was Anna Hazare’s baby. It was sabotaged by Kejriwal and his friends because they wanted to launch a political party to “encash” the tremendous public support they had garnered. Since old Anna Hazare did not agree, he was dumped, movement sabotaged and Aam Aadmi Party was formed.
This party’s name was copied from UPA/Congress Party’s favourite term “aam aadmi”. Its uniform of Topi was copied from Anna’s Maharashtrian topi; its “Mai hun aam aadmi” copied from “Mai hun Anna” slogan. Its election symbol of “jhaadu” was copied from UP based Naitik Party’s election symbol. Kejriwal’s book is “Swaraj”, name copied from Gandhiji’s Hind Swaraj”. Kejriwal took full credit for RTI Act, though we know that Congress had passed it and RTI was there before Kejriwal came into scene. And now, Congress is passing Lokpal Bill to reclaim its popularity dented by its rout in 4 states’ assembly elections, which is an achievement of Bharatiya Janata Party which came out biggest in all 4 states.
All his life, this man has been snatching credits from other persons/parties. But can’t he stop even once – and let Anna Hazare have the credit for Lokpal Bill even now? Do they have to be so ungrateful towards Anna?

Some facts about AAP and Arvind Kejriwal
Got it shared by a friend:
1. Aap fought Delhi election with this slogan “AK4Delhi & NaMo4PM” now @arvindkejriwal changing his attitude. – greedy AK’. 2. Kejrival says “ppl voted for Honesty..” – So according to his statements in Delhi BJP is more honest than #AAP..3. Arvind Kejriwal claims its a vote AGAINST corruption of Congress & BJP”  – but 32>28. BJP won 3 other states with full majority.4. Arvind Kejriwal #AAP have claimed victory in Delhi. After blabbering “Delhi vote is AGAINST Cong/BJP” now @ArvindKejriwal & Sisodia saying “Delhi voted for AAP to be in Oppn” – then why is he shying away from forming a Govt in Delhi?? UTurn?5. Many BJP leaders have already congratulated AAP for their win, but @ArvindKejriwal says BJP has lost elections. Shows his arrogance.6. allegations against #AAP are political conspiracy whereas their allegations against others are full proof . Criminal Innocence7. Headlines Today, Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep Sardesai all interviewed Arvind Kejriwal. His answers/lines are exactly the same! – ‘ both bjp n congress is same, ‘ sub log brust hai’ ‘ ye jeet janataki jeet hai’ “Dont want to be either PM or CM.I’m an aam aadmi, mein tuch insaan hoon. etc etc.. – aam admi, tuch insaan ( u r )??8. On Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal
Some thoughts related to Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal. These may appear incoherent but I wrote these in different contexts and I have merely compiled these for here:
- Kejriwal is an autocratic leader. He does not know how to take people along. This is why Kiran Bedi and others left him. I think even if Congress offers him support, his arrogance and personality won’t make him take that support. And please, stop involving BJP into every thing. AAP has clearly said that it won’t take support from anyone and won’t give support to anyone. But paid members of AAP are spreading this propaganda that BJP is “pushing” AAP to take support from Congress! Hilarious.
By paid-member, I meant those who have paid to become AAP member; just like there are paid-members of any club or association. What Arun Jaitley has said is nothing new, or whatever he said is his analysis; BJP can’t be said to be “pushing AAP to take Cong’s support”. Why should BJP do that and harm its own prospects? Afterall BJP is the biggest party in Delhi! Also, when Kejriwal has said that he won’t support anyone and won’t take support from anyone, are you doubting your own cult-leader on this patter? Do you think that BJP can push Kejriwal to once again eat his words and do treachery with his supporters (like he had sabotaged Anna movement in the past for his political motives)? You should think twice what you are proposing; this is why I accused you of finding silly excuses to bad-mouth BJP. BJP is the largest party in Delhi elections. If you respect people’s verdict, you should respect this fact. But I doubt if there is ever a hope of a sensible mature opinion from an AAP paid-member. AAP is like a cult now, where brainwashed individuals go on indulging in newer propaganda everyday. If AAP stops its propaganda machinery, it will lose power and hence their machinery is running even now.
- Can you tell anything wrong with Dr. Harsh Vardhan to be a preferable candidate for Delhi’s CM post? You can take some days to watch some videos and come back educated about Dr. Harsh Vardhan. I consider him the most able person to become Delhi’s CM; he has an impeccable record. I challenge you openly – prove to me why should not he be the best candidate and how Anna’s backstabber Arvind is better than him.
I accept that to a common man, Dr. Harsh Vardhan appears to be non-political person… But that is not his weakness; it is his biggest strength! I wonder if you would really prefer a seasoned politician over a Doctor turned politician? Will you? And is that really the mood of the nation? Here, I hope you would accept that people are fed up of seasoned politicians and want a “change”. And Dr. Harsh Vardhan is that “change” for Delhi. You are very right about Dr. Harsh Vardhan being the pioneer of Pulse Polio program. He saved life in the process, did not he? The model was used all over India and it got international attention – that India is not some third world nation where disease infested kids die on the roadside; but India has many success stories to tell the world. I read they have copied this concept into many other nations even like Bangladesh/Pakistan. And his experience so far is not only theory but mostly practice. One of the reasons why he was selected as CM’s candidate was because of his administrative and organization skills. If you will follow him you will know more about him. On the other hand, Kejriwal is still untested. All that he has proven so far is that he is fickle minded person who is not sure what he wants to do. Till he was part of Anna movement, he used to say that he will never join politics. Then he joined politics. Then he said he is not fighting for any post; but then he wanted CM’s chair. First he thought only Con Party as our enemy (it is open secret that BJP/RSS/Baba Ramdev, all had taken part in Anna movement)- then he started abusing BJP also. We don’t know if he is serious about politics and his recent disinclination to form govt in Delhi also indicates about the same. So we should give at least 5 years to Kejriwal to get himself tested. If he remains in politics and does good work as MLA in his area, certainly he will gain support from all quarters. As of now, supporting him is like betting in a gamble. Dr. Harsh Vardhan on the other hand is a tasted hand, and stands as non-political politician – a better man as you say – and that is what young India aspires for!
- It is common knowledge and very well documented how Kejriwal used and threw away Anna Hazare; using his Jan Lokpal as launching pad for his political party. This is why Anna and Kiran Bedi and some others have never truly joined Kejriwal’s political outfit. But this is past and stale news; I think we don’t need to discuss it now. But I wonder why you deny it? It is in common knowledge that no one knew Kejriwal before Anna’s movement and Anna’s movement was sabotaged because some (Kejriwal etc) wanted to form political party and Anna’s movement had to be trashed before they could start their own party.
If you personally see 50 million photos where Kejriwal has not used Anna, it does not prove that Kejriwal has not used Anna’s photo; because there may be some others where he has used him and you have not seen those! Obviously you are not omnipotent and omnipresent, right? These are basics of reasoning. And instead of calling my arguments stupid, you should say, “I am finding your comments stupid”, because there is always a probability that the problem is in your own understanding ability rather than with my arguments. I only told you three facts listed above; I did not say that Kejri used Anna’s name for votes, or that Kejri had actually done fraud, or that Kejri was using IAC name for votes; I only told the “fact” that Anna asked Kejri to stop doing all this. Do you understand difference between fact and opinion? As I said in the beginning, it appears that you want to bad-mouth BJP and that is all you want to achieve by such silly excuses. On BJP’s opinion on Lokpal, I don’t know anything more than what is in public domain. I am not a paid or unpaid member of any political party and I have not attended any secret or roadside meeting of any political party including BJP, so I don’t know. I hope that answers.

If I have to choose between you and Anna Hazare on this topic related to Anna Hazare and Kejriwal, I will choose to trust Anna Hazare. Why? Because he has more access to the facts than you have. Is not it logical? If I have to trust you, it has to be blind trust and hence I won’t. I agree that you are far more informed about AAP than me because you even paid money to them, you bear their logo on your profile picture, you are certainly passionate about them. But that is the trap – if we wear red tinted glasses, everything starts to appear red to us. So we should have balanced approach. So far interacting with AAP members I have not seen any balance in them and I have found them closed-minded people on a mission, almost like missionaries. And I doubt – road to hell is paved with good intentions. Since Delhi has Dr. Harsh Vardhan and reliable BJP with clear policies; why does it need Kejriwal who himself is not sure about what he wants to do either in Delhi or in life (latest flip-flop – he had asked Kiran Bedi to be CM earlier).

5 A.A.P. Candidates in Delhi face Criminal Charges

This news tells the truth about Aam Aadmi Party’s claim of being the holy cow of Indian politics:

Delhi: Kejriwal among 5 AAP candidates facing criminal cases
New Delhi: Five candidates of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) including its chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal have criminal cases against them. Kejriwal has five cases against him and charges have been framed in the defamation case, filed by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s political secretary Pawan Khera. Police is yet to frame charges against Kejriwal in other four cases.
Most of these cases are related to rioting, unlawful assembly, obstructing public servant in discharge of duty, disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.
Similarly, AAP leader and candidate from Babarpur Assembly Constituency Gopal Rai has two cases against him. Charges have been framed in a case of 1999, filed in Lucknow. Rai has cases related to criminal intimidation, rioting, armed with deadly weapon, mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50, disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.
AAP spokesperson and candidate from Patparganj Assembly Manish Sisodia has three cases against him. It includes voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty, acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention. Cases of rioting, armed with deadly weapon, every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object, obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions were also among others charges.
While Harish Avasthi, candidate from Rithala Assembly constituency, has just one case against him which relates to voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty.
AAP candidate from Rohini, Rajesh Garg Rohiniwale, has two cases against him. The charges relates to voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty, possession of Indian coin by person who knew it to be altered when he became possessed thereof, rioting, rioting and armed with deadly weapon, obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions.

Narendra Modi given Clean Chit in Gujarat Post-Godhra Riots

Now corrupt parties desperately need some other excuse to form a coalition after next elections, because claiming to do it in the name of secularism won’t work anymore. I think this verdict won’t surprise those who appreciate Mr. Modi and his work.

Good going Narendra Modi

When Narendra Modi went to Patna for rally, terrorists carried out serial bomb-blasts and killed many. But neither the audience nor Modi were deterred by it and the rally was huge success. Now I hear about Mr. Modi visiting Jammu and the rally again appears to be a huge success!

Unlike other opposition parties, Mr. Modi does not only complain (i.e. do negative politics of anti-incombency) but provides solutions along with showing case-studies of success from Gujarat (which I call positive politics).

I also cannot stop drawing parallels with Sardar Patel. From East to West, North to South, he is going everywhere to create a wave of positivity and hope, uniting all Indians in the process! All the best!

Encounter with an AAP Fanatic

Recently I met a supporter of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is a political party contesting assembly election in Delhi. To call him merely a supporter would be a grave understatement, so I shall call him a “Fanatic Supporter”. He started talking about AAP’s success in getting funds and his success in convincing some young educated ladies about the need to support AAP over any other political party. I decided to test his mantle and here is what transpired:

Fanatic Supporter (FS) talks about Arvind Kejriwal and his party Aam Aadmi Party and prospects in Delhi

Rahul: Is it that Kejriwal ji is fighting as CM candidate in Delhi? Don’t you think that it makes AAP merely a “regional party”, or “one of the regional parties” to be precise?

FS: Yes, but we had to start from somewhere. So choosing a state was important.

Rahul: But all your policies were national in nature. Take any policy which AAP tried to champion. Take Jan Lokpal for example. Will Kejriwal or AAP get to pass it even if he becomes CM of Delhi assembly?

FS: No. But what was alternative?

Rahul: The expected thing was that Kejriwal could remain in national politics and ask someone else to lead in Delhi. But it seems Kejriwal either does not trust anyone else, or else he is insecure and is betting whatever he has on Delhi elections! Further, why in Delhi?

FS: It is Delhi; it could be any other state…

Rahul: Anna Hazare’s Jan Lokpal agitation had got great response only in Delhi which is political capital of India with so many universities and their students oriented in politics! They failed disastrously in Mumbai; remember? So Delhi is an “easy way out”! It is fine to choose whatever place you have best chances in, but what of national issues?

FS: AAP and Kejriwal will keep fighting for national issues.

Rahul: How can you fight for national issues while being in state assembly? If you have to raise voice about Jan Lokpal, or for inclusion of political parties under RTI, you have to be in the Parliament and not in assembly! What disappoints me is the fact that during this whole time AAP and Kejriwal have been raising all issues of national importance, but when it came to fight elections, they have gone to a state! It strengthens the accusation of personal ambitions on him…

FS: (becomes infuriated) How can I talk to you, you are not talking sense. You don’t know anything, blah blah…

Rahul: Let us take any other issue of your interest. Let us take demand of bringing political parties under RTI ambit. I know AAP’s stand on that; tell me why should political parties be brought under TRI?

FS: Tell me why should not those be brought under RTI?

Rahul: Because intent of RTI is to bring transparency and accountability in govt. departments and govt organizations. Political parties are not govt organizations and hence they can’t be brought under RTI.

If you appear for an interview of Wipro or Infosys and are not selected. Can you file RTI to get info on why you were not selected? RTI is not the one and only method to bring transparency in this whole world. If political parties will be included under RTI what do you think will happen? Con Party wallahs will keep filing RTI against BJP wallahs, BJP wallahs will keep filing RTI against Con Party wallahs and this whole nation will be a mess!

FS: But they take money and do not disclose the source!

Rahul: So you are talking about need to bring transparency in elections funding. If existing laws are not sufficient, we can make new laws to ensure that. But it has nothing to force us to go the RTI route only.

FS: But AAP is always transparent… It discloses names of all donators.

Rahul: AAP has also hired many agencies to raise funds and said it does not know from which agency money is coming. Let us not pretend that AAP is so transparent.

FS: (infuriated and agitated; as if he will start a street fight) No. AAP has not hired any agency; you are not telling truth. Blah blah.

Rahul: I will send you link to the news article.

The fanatic supporter started to retreat and get away from me.

Next week I sent him this news article. FS never responded back. From next meeting he started avoiding talking to me. So it seems an average fanatic AAP supporter won’t be a perfect fit in this imperfect world!

Where will Political Movements Take us?

Our GDP growth rate was splendid 9.3% just 2 years back in 2010-11. Last quarter, it was paltry 4.4%! What a downfall! Though there are many factors responsible for it, a big one is that we witnessed Policy Paralysis by our Govt. If we mind the dates, one big event happened in 2011 - Jan Lokpal Bill. Researchers can comment on its full impact, but I think one was that it contributed to Policy Paralysis of our govt which was pushed on the defensive. So far we have known that "elections" are the time when we do performance appraisal of our govt. But this idea of pulling people out of offices and colleges to protest on the streets and collect donations for a new party's coffers; I don't know what else it achieved but it did harm our economy. So we came down from 9.3% to 4.4% and our nation instead of being identified with the one supplying top brains of Silicon Valley, has gotten used to being called an ailing, chaotic Democracy, once again!

For example, 2G Scam actually happened around year 2008; despite that we continued great growth recovery till 2011 when we achieved 9.3% and thereafter we fell backwards... Coal allocation Scam is also old one – between 2004 – 2009. Still we keep growing... So my view is that scams don’t really harm economy as much as political climate does.

Which politician of our time is the best orator?

Which politician of our time is the best orator?

From my limited listening on TV, I would rate Arun Shourie as #1. He is really intelligent speaker and very sharp.

At #2 I find Meenakashi Lekhi these days; she is bundle of power.

I have also appreciated Smriti Irani a lot for her ability of bulldozing her way and putting opponents in retreat mode.

Narendra Modi is very fine speaker too and I find a lot of his styles matching the great orator Atal Bihari Vajpayee

There is also Manish Tewari who is too tough opponent for anyone, though he thrusts his jurisprudence everywhere.

I am also a big fan of Ravishankar Prasad

I used to believe that Nitish Kumar would be good, but so far I have found him crafty (his eyes and facial expressions show slyness) and he secretly shoots opponents without taking names as if it is some virtuous act.

From the rest, many sound anything from being arrogant, irritatingly monotonous, messy, hideous, racist to even absolute savages. There is very little chance of enjoying presence of politicians in TV debates except for a few of them who are informative, sensible and eloquent.

Gandhi Nehru Patel

In this picture:

Gandhiji is showing some paper to Nehruji and Sardar Patel. Since he is reading, he is wearing his glasses. But Nehruji has put his glasses on the ground, though he has a pencil in his hand. Seems he is interested in the talk and not in the paper :)

It is said that Gandhiji personally favored Nehru though Patel was more capable. In this picture, see how Gandhiji has tilted the paper (even himself) towards Nehru; thereby Patel has to bend and try too hard to read it! (Patel appears more interested in the paper than Gandhiji’s talk; unlike Nehru). It is not nice to see Patel struggling like this despite his age.

There is another man on the left side, but he is too distantly ignored and power is concentrated in these three (it became evident when 12 out of 15 Congress committee members nominated Patel but Gandhiji made Nehru first PM of India). Also notice a wall painting where Gandhiji is shown as breaking the chains of “gulami”! While Krantikaris used to paint pictures of “Bharat Mata” on the wall; this was the beginning of ‘hero-worship’ which is being done till date. (my personal opinion)

Name them

If you have to name one of these great leaders as (1) Prince Charming and another as (2) The Senior Leader and someone as (3) An Apprentice; who will you name? :)

Judging just by looks and appearance and no offense to anyone. My votes are:
(1) Subhas Chandra Bose, (2) Sardar Patel and (3) Nehruji.

Let me know your votes too!

Morgan Freeman: Obama is not Black

We all saw how Obama tried to position himself as a Black person, so as to get votes of non-Whites. Even till date he does occasional positioning, like when a Black teen died in a scuffle of mistaken identity, Obama said that he would have looked like the kid, some years back! Essentially, it was to show his sympathy and flattering towards people from a particular skin color.

But the fact is that Obama is not ‘black’. Though it has been shared by many, here is what Morgan Freeman said:

Morgan Freeman told NPR’s “Tell Me More” host Michel Martin in an interview:

“They just conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white – very white American, Kansas, middle America,” the Oscar winner continued. “There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet. He’s not America’s first black president – he’s America’s first mixed-race president.”

“He is being purposely, purposely thwarted by the Republican Party, who started out at the beginning of his tenure by saying, ‘We are going to do whatever is necessary to make sure that he only has one term,’” Freeman said. “That means they will not cooperate with him on anything. So to say he’s ineffective is a misappropriation of the facts.”

Nitish Kumar Gets His Mahabodhi Treat

Islamic dislike for Buddhists and Buddhist temples and idols all over the world is no hidden fact. But it was surprising that a Buddhist temple was blasted in India after a long long time. But if you watched the trend, nothing comes as a surprise.

Nitish Kumar, in order to make all Biharis as “vote banks” has been playing regionalist card for quote some time. Special status for Bihar was a major trump card, which has been spent now after successful hit. Along with regional chauvinist politics which was expected to garner him votes of all castes of Hindus, he was deeply into communal minority vote bank politics by appeasing the minorities by giving them money and funds on many pretexts and under multiple schemes paid by tax payers money who are largely Hindus. But the problem arose when he started compromising on security…

Nitish Kumar’s communal Muslim vote bank politics made him protect Islamic terrorists every time their root was found to be in Bihar. He fought with his counterparts from Maharashtra, rubbishing any charges of being soft on terror; he tried to run down increasing Muslim radicalism in Bihar fuelled by Gulf money, and most recently, and in currently running event he and his party have been strongly protecting terrorist Ishrat Jahan! And just when he thought he had championed the cause of home grown Muslim terrorists, he gets a warning sign!

As of now we are still counting how many blasts happened in Mahabodhi temple in Bihar.

In the past low intensity blasts may be result of home-grown terror when some Indian Muslim radical would have home-made the bomb. It had happened in Pune last time – multiple low intensity blasts of this kind.

I think a major credit for this terror attack goes to Nitish Kumar and his pseudo secular politics. He has been protecting an Indian terrorist called Ishrat Jahan because she was born in Bihar. In the past also he has protected some terrorists every time their roots were found in Bihar. Let us hope no life is lost and no innocent blood shed. Because India will probably always have communal politicians like Nitish Kumar and home grown terrorists following Jihad; but all we need to protect are our law abiding innocent citizens who become scapegoats in the power play of politicians and violent games of Jihadis.

Times of India’s Puppygiri

It seems the Press has never forgotten what the Party did to them during the Emergency; so they are ever ready to toe its line. Then there is big ticket Advertisement revenue: if you work for govt, you will get payoffs in terms of big and small govt ads. Times of India’s crooked plan to tarnish Modi’s image was revealed this time.

If you want to see TOI’s clarification (it was not an apology by the way); check it out here:

http://www.sify.com/news/rambo-modi-story-a-hoax-times-of-india-clarifies-news-national-nhpnFNacbje.html

A very good article shared by BJP reveals Times of India’s Shameful act:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

A news daily has issued a clarification relating to a front page news report which appeared on 23 June 2013. “Modi in Rambo Act saves 15000” was given pride of place just below the masthead considering that the copy related to a Chief Minister who is the toast of the nation and from whom every day, ‘the nation wants to know’.

Read complete article by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman on A ‘Normal Journalistic Report’ and a Clarification at http://bit.ly/15tV730.

Now immediately after this Rambo distortion, Times of India is busy in misquoting and manipulating Narendra Modi’s interview; calling it “his puppy remark”. But after this event, it seems Times of India better be careful about its own “PuppyGiri”:)

Congress Party does not like Hindu Nationalists

There is a reason why the very party which invented the term ‘Hindu Terrorists’ to appease a group gets combative when it hears the term ‘Hindu Nationalists’. If you identify yourself with your Caste, the party will love it; if you identify yourself with any other religion than Hinduism, our PM will say, “you have first right to get direct cash transfer”; but if you say you are a Hindu, that upsets everything! They don’t need Hindus to know they are Hindus! Easy guess that if Hindus unite without getting divided on the basis of castes; that would be the end of Corruption Raaj in India.

For Cong party, a Hindu Nationalist means one who will never vote for it (in the present tense) and hence the dislike. From what I have read Swami Vivekananda is said to be one of the first proponents of Hindu Nationalism (at least in modern era). Hindu Nationalism is centered around the “nation” and nation building and its welfare are its supreme goals. But for some others, a dynasty or some foreign nation’s welfare is ultimate goal. E.g. Communists used to take orders from Russia and hence India is not their central interest; so they are not Nationalists; Hindu or otherwise.

Three Religions and the Phone

A friend shared this:

It seems that now a days the world is dominated by 4 religions. iOS followers, Android followers. Blackberry followers and Windows Phone 8 followers.

Android followers remind me of Medival Islamists- forcibly trying to convert others…

iOS followers are like present day Christians- Always trying to convert others by showing how much better their God is…

BB followers are like Zoroastrians- Slowly loosing relevance but still holding on…

WP8 followers are like Hindus – Oblivious of everything around them. Trying to peacefully coexist. Trying to catch up, slowly but steadily…

Now waiting for this Hindu to be attacked by others.

Why Indian Communists Love Islamists?

There is a big puzzling question. As we notice communists are generally anti-religion but they seem to love and favor Islam in India. Whichever state, e.g. West Bengal and Kerala, where communists have been in power, they have supported Islamic radicalism and have always sided with Muslims organizations and politicians. On the other hand, communist historians have been painting Indian pre-Islamic history (before Islamic invaders came to India) as a dark phase in our history. So why do Indian communists support Islamists when they are expected to be opposed to all religions?

A friend shared this and I think he makes good points. Please note that all can be said to be personal opinion and intent of sharing is nothing but opinion-sharing and brain storming:

I have just a few things to say, and most of these observations are of a very general nature, so might seem off-topic. They are more of a commentary of the state of affairs in India.

First, we must understand that Shourie / Goel / others are of a different breed altogether. And therein lies a duality. A duality between what happens outside India, and what happens within. It is this duality that is to blame for most of our problems.

The best example (and an old one) of this would be the word “secular”. Outside India, this word has two meanings.

One, it refers to words outside the domain of religion. For instance, we may say that “Mathematics is a secular subject”, or that “French law is secular (in that it does not derive from any religious code)”.

Two, as a matter of public policy, it refers to an explicit ignoring of religion. It is in this sense that France is a secular country, in that the state is made blind to religion, to the extent that no government form can have a column for religion.

Now in India, what is secular? God only knows, but the best definition that we get is “equal respect for all religions”. Now that amounts to an abuse of the English language you see. I’m not saying at all whether religions should equal respect or not – all I’m saying is that if you wanna use a new definition, decency, and basic respect for the language demand that you use a different word. Nowhere in the world does the word secular have that meaning!

More insidiously (and this is the true intention of the these word inventors), we would be correct in saying “France & India are secular countries”, but the secularism of France is as much separated from that of India, as the two countries are apart geographically! But by using such curious definitions, an illusion (of authority / modernism) is built, and then it is very difficult for anyone to oppose such things. Even today, when BJP says “pseudo-secular” how many Indians understand what is being talked about?

This is exactly what George Orwell warned us about when he said, “Political chaos is connected with the decay of language… one can probably bring about some improvement by starting at the verbal end.” Sita Ram Goel has an entire book on this “The Perversion of India’s political parlance”.

Now that was a small, largely well know example. There are even some fun things here: For instance someone discovered a few years ago that the particular English translation being used in India of the French novel “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” had a few chapters missing! And no-body had noticed that for at least 60+ years (since independence)! (Turns out that these few chapters had a few anti-British statements, so the British deleted them) It is indeed a sad commentary on the sorry state of affairs in Indian universities.

And so now I come to the question you ask.

First, what Shourie writes is true. The Soviets had no love lost for religion, and they were not above using it for political motives. But at the same time, I would disagree that all Soviet literature was politically motivated. Soviet analysis of old Russian paganism, or of Hinduism or even of Islam is quite spot-on. Also beyond, say 1931, the Soviets were firmly in power, so I would not believe it that the Soviets were really trying to “please” anyone with their analyses. Yes there was a certain communist bent to whatever they wrote, but trust me, they did do some serious scholarly work too.

But thats not quite the whole story just yet! For just like the word “secular” means different things within India and without, so too does the word “communism” or even “soviet”!

Let me give you another example. The soviets were pretty damn frank about what was happening in their country. So if you read the soviet government reports, and these were available from their embassies – it was that easy – one could easily figure out that (say) collectivization was a colossal failure. Or that the Soviet language policy was Russianization in disguise. But what did people like Nehru say? He said that collectivization was a great success, and it is a fact that the India’s language policy is modeled after the Soviet one!!!

Now its obvious to ask – how is that possible? Well, the answer is simple. Nehru was dumb, his advisors were dumber, so they would at the max, listen to Stalin’s speeches or listen to Soviet envoys. Thats like buying a soap based on ads, and not scientific reports. And given the brutal honesty of the Soviets themselves in their official reports, you could hardly blame them! And what even funnier, if not tragic, is that when Sita Ram Goel pointed this out, he was declared enemy of state!!!

So coming back to the point, the species “Indian Communism” is as different from “Marx’s / Lenin’s / Trotsky’s / Mao’s Communism” as a dolphin is from a TV. They are two different things entirely.

It is this “Indian Communism” that CPI(M/ML/XXX) follow. It is this that the jholawalas of JNU follow. And it is this that attracts Iqbal. Bottom line is: Indian intellectuals, such as they are, are born and brought up on second hand British literature, and that is the source of their inspiration and understanding of the world. Few of your JNU types could even recite the soviet five year plans if you held a gun to their head. 99% of them can’t even read Russian or German (the language of Das Kapital).

In India, communism is basically hatred of Hinduism, period. No original theoretical contribution to communist theory has ever been made by an Indian, and this despite the fact that 99% of our social scientists wear communism like a second skin. In essence, they are posers, and little else.

My basic point is : the duality of political concepts within India and without. And this extend to everything. Essentially, what I want to say is (1) Soviet (or Chinese) Communism is not Indian Communism, and consequently, (2) Inferences from Soviet writings are no pointer to the attitudes of Indian communists.
