Azam Khan and his comment on Woman MP Rama Devi

Today, a very disturbing event happened in Lok Sabha. Azam Khan said to deputy speaker RamaDevi: "Aap mujhe itni achchhi lagti hain ki mann chahta aapki aankhon mein dekhta rahoon."

Speaker asked Azam Khan for apology but he did not apologize. BJP members shouted and asked apology from Azam Khan. But his friend AkhileshYadav called BJP members "Battameej" in return. When BJP members did not stop and kept demanding apology, Azam walked out of house, saying he was being insulted.

How can such actions from an MP be tolerated? Azam Khan must be sacked and punished for such a comment.

--------------------------

The Lok Sabha turned oddly filmy on Thursday, when Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan appropriated the most Bollywood lines in "honour" of the Chair (read: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rama Devi).

In the mid of a discussion and out of nowhere, maybe, Azam Khan had said to Rama Devi: "Aap mujhe itni achchhi lagti hain ki mann chahta aapki aankhon mein dekhta rahoon. [I like you so much, Rama Devi that I want to look into eyes for eternity]"

OMG!

To this, Rama Devi said: "This is not the way you speak to a woman. Expunge your remark."

And Khan said: "You are very respected. You're like my sister."

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav came in defence of his MP and said: "I don't think Azam Khan ji meant any disrespect to the chair [Rama Devi]. These [BJP MPs] people are so rude. Who are they to raise fingers?"

Hona kya thha! The Lower House broke into a disagreement over what the decorum of the House should be.

Aaah!

To this end, Speaker Om Birla asked Azam Khan to apologise, saying his remark was not weaved well.

From what we know, Azam Khan refused to apologise, and said he was ready to tender his resignation if he said anything unparliamentary.

Azam Khan and Akhilesh Yadav later walked out of the Lok Sabha.

Triple Talaq Bill Passed by Loksabha

In a very welcome move, Loksabha has passed triple talaq bill:

The Lok Sabha, on Thursday, passed the contentious Muslim Women (Protection of Rights of Marriage) Bill, 2019 or the Triple Talaq Bill with 303 members voting in its favour and 82 against it. The bill replaces an Ordinance promulgated on February 21, 2019.

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tabled the Bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday afternoon. High-level drama ensued when the JDU, the TMC and the Congress' MPs staged a walkout protesting against the Bill.

Rajiv Gandhi killer Nalini gets parole for daughter's wedding

As per news, Rajiv Gandhi's killer Nalini, who is serving life imprisonment, has got parole for 30 days to attend her daughter's wedding.

This will shock everyone. Nalini is an international terrorist. She conspired to kill India's ex-Prime Minister. And while she is serving jail term, she is being given leave to go free and attend her daughter's wedding. How shocking and unfair this can be?

She must not be given such freedom and she must be kept behind bars all the time.

Reason why RTI (Amendment) Bill, 2019 is a Welcome Move

Government has introduced an RTI amendment bill which enables it to fix salaries and tenure of CICs:

The government on Friday introduced a bill in Lok Sabha to amend the Right to Information Act, which would allow the Centre to decide tenure and salaries of state and central information commissioners, amid protests from opposition parties.

Introducing the Right to Information (Amendment) Bill, 2019 in Lok Sabha, minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh said it aims at institutionalisation, streamlining and ease of delivery of RTI Act, adding that it as an enabling legislation for administration purposes. He claimed that the government’s commitment to transparency could not be questioned and blamed the then UPA government for not making proper rules to implement the RTI Act when it was enacted in 2005.

“You have made a clumsy Act in haste. We are only trying to strengthen it,” Singh claimed.

Reading about this amendment bill, it can be easily understood that this bill does not touch the core purpose of the RTI act and it is meant only for correcting the salary and tenure part. It is very simple. If Govt appoints CIC, govt should have right to decide on his salary. In original bill, CIC salary was put at par with CEC while it was realized later that CIC and CEC have diversely different roles and hence their salary etc should not be linked/matched. So this amendment will rectify it and de-couple the two positions which were never related to begin with. What is big deal? It is a simple and logical amendment.

But opposition parties are trying to create an impression as if core principle of RTI act is being touched upon in this amendment, which is totally false.

RTI mainly brings bureaucracy under the task and hence politicians do not hate it as much as bureaucracy does. RTI became irrelevent after Modi govt came to power and large scale corruption stopped. Now we do not hear about RTI much because of this reason. The amendment is good because it gives flexibility to govt to decide on tenure and salary of CIC and it is true that CIC's role is not comparable to the role of Election Commission. So the amendment will not do any harm to the act, it will only stop CIC from becoming autocratic.

Clear Division of Ideologies in Indian Political Landscape

I think the ideological landscape is more clear today than ever was.

BJP in the rightist space is clearly nationalist, takes lot of pride in being a strong nation internationally, is pro majority.

On the other hand, Urban Naxal parties are clearly minority appeasing and have short sighted policies like voter appeasement through giving freebies etc, have dynastic and family dependent organization.

It is clear that urban naxals have totally lost the plot and have only doom in store for their future.
