Suspect in Waukesha mass casualty incident identified

In a very shocking incident 5 dead are already dead and around 40 injured after a speeding car drove into Christmas parade in the USA.

Multiple Dead, Over 20 Injured After Speeding Car Drives Into Christmas Parade In US (india.com)

This is a very sad news and we pray for the victims' souls.

Another shocking realization was that no matter how many articles I searched, I could not find the name of the attacker. All news articles wrote their news as if it was an accident and not a planned attack. There was too much focus on showing the attack, descriptions of what happened to Children, how a Catholic priest was among the injured, etc. I was upset at the manner in which all articles were written as with in a tone to cause pain to White Christians.

After spending about 10 minutes, I finally found that the attacker was a Black man named Darrell E. Brooks (Ref: http://meaww.com).

After searching internet with his name, then I started coming across news articles which told more details about him. Suspect in Waukesha mass casualty incident is identified as career criminal Darrell E. Brooks. I wonder if Left wing parties will start another BLM movement now, because even the victim of police atrocity incident which caused BLM was a similar career criminal.

On a serious note, I request media to write news in a neutral tone and not to cause more pain than inflicted on the group or community which is target of such incidents.

Making Sense of Twitter Outrage Against Farm Law Repealment

Our government decided to repeal the recently introduced three farm laws. I wrote about its political aspects here

Now, immediately after the announcement by Prime Minister, various people started writing their reactions on Twitter. Interestingly, among various seemingly Right Wing handles, I found more discontent than support for this decision.

On Twitter, some lawyers, IT engineers, students, etc were so pained due to repealing of three farm-laws, as if they have really lost something. How can you lose something which was never there? Farm Laws were already in a suspended state, after all! Those never started, so no loss happened in their repealing!

A lot of opposition speakers on TV were also critical of government even after this historic decision by Prime Minister. According to some speakers on TV, govt should have repealed farm laws earlier to prevent some protesters from dying protesting it. How about being grateful for repealing it now and hence preventing more protesters from dying in future?

I really doubt the integrity of all people crying on Twitter just because our govt repealed an already suspended law which never saw the light of the day! I mean, what was there to cry about?

Some people on TV gave number of farmers who died due to various reasons protesting against Farm Laws, to blame our govt. Do they know number of farmers who die due to snakebites in a year? Or suicides, or rivalry? It is not easy to say whether the protests caused "net" loss or "net" gain in number of lives which were lost at protest sites Vs which could have been lost in the fields. Farming is a risky job.

I don't know if those critical Twitter users were really serious about the benefits which these farm laws were going to bring or is it that they were just playing with emotions? Everyone knows that state governments can still enact these laws under various provisions and Center even can bring some of these laws in future at a better time. Then, why was it such a big deal today? Or is it because today being a holiday due to Dev Diwali and Guru Nanak Jayanti, a lot of people had a lot of idle time, to be extra vocal? Look, even I wrote two blog posts after a long time!

Why Farm Laws Reversal Is Political Masterstroke by BJP

This morning at 9 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came once again on National Television and made a big decision about repealing three new farm laws which were part of his government's Agriculture Reforms. The decision has received mixed reaction from people. I would like to summarize my analysis on this matter:

There is no doubt that these three farm-laws were made with good intent in mind by our government. These farm laws, including contract farming and the law which allowed farmers to sell their produce to private parties bypassing "Mandi" (which angered the Mandi brokers) were designed in such a manner that these were going to improve farmers' income level. These laws were part of PM Narendra Modi's resolve to double farmer incomes and there is no doubt that these laws passed by our parliament were pro-farmers.

Another clear point is that the Central Govt has not retreated on these laws due to protests. It is true that Left wing affiliated farmer organizations had done massive protests against these farm-laws and this was something which was really surprising because these laws were clearly pro-farmer. But it is also true that these protests happened mainly in one particular geography (in and around Punjab) and farmers from rest of our country had accepted and appreciated these laws. Chief Minisers of many Indian states had officially welcomed these farm laws as well as many economists and experts had appreciated the features of these laws.

The very fact that Central Government was totally unfazed by the farm-protests despite violence, riots and strikes carried by Left Win farmers organizations, proves that Center has now not taken the decision to take back these laws under any external pressure.

Then, of course the question arises about why have government taken back these laws?

My analysis says that Center has done a strategic retreat of farm laws to help BJP win Punjab elections. State govts are still free to make their legislations to get those features which were made at national level. E.g. Maharashtra already has contract farming. Other states can have it too if they want.

So, without harming the economics behind these farm laws, a "political retreat" has been done for electoral benefits.

It is easy to see that now that three Farm Laws have been repealed, way has been cleared for a 3-way alliance between BJP, SAD and Captain Amarinder Singh's party. The SAD (Akali Dal) had left NDA alliance of BJP only because of these farm-bills and now that reason is no longer valid. Captain Amarinder Singh, on the other hand was the popular face of state politics and he also will be able to go to the public with a stronger conviction now, that the main "agenda" of Congress Party has been made to become irrelevant.

Due to these changes, the chances that Congress party will be removed from power in Punjab during next elections are very high.

And remember that BJP can always reintroduce the laws in some shape if it loses or no benefit seen in the upcoming Punjab Elections 2022.

Therefore, I think that the farm-laws reversal is a great political masterstroke by the BJP. We shall watch the political events in next few weeks and months to get it if its impact is seen as intended.

Why I am not Bothered by Indian Cricket Team Losing Two Matches

Unlike most people on internet, I am not bothered much by Indian Cricket Team's performance

1. I consider only ODI WC as real WC. T20 as a game itself is not real Cricket; forget about T20WC being real WC.

2. I never liked Virat's captaincy. No expectations means no pain.

3. Players are humans and one team has to lose.

4. We lost only against competent teams.

5. T20WC itself is not a great championship. They are making sheep play alongside wolves, to begin with.

6. Taking the knee to support a foreign violent protest had sealed it on day-1.

On a lighter note, it seems God punished Indian Cricket team for supporting a foreign violent racist protest (BLM) during which many lost lives and thousands of property burnt by rioters.

India has never supported violence or racism and how could BCCI support this violent and anti-White racist protest?
