Kerala Still Running State Lotteries!

Lotteries have been banned in many states in India and only a few states still run it. Mainly the poor states which do not have much revenue gathering opportunities run lotteries in order to earn some revenue. But you would be shocked to know that Kerala, a state which flaunts its high literacy level as compared to other places in India, and high remittances from Keralites settled abroad, is still running lotteries.

The Kerala state lottery department Monday announced the results of Kerala Win Win Lottery W-591. The first prize winner is ticket number WW-312252 which bagged a whopping Rs 75 lakh. The second prize was drawn by ticket number WN-191518 which bagged Rs 5 lakh, while third prize worth Rs 1 lakh was won by ticket numbers ...

The price of a single ticket is Rs 40, while the entire book costs Rs 750. If the prize money is less than Rs 5,000, the winners can claim the money from any lottery shop in Kerala. If the amount won is above Rs 5,000, the winners will have to surrender their tickets before a bank or government lottery office with id proofs.

With seven daily and multiple bumpers draws, the lottery is one of the biggest cash flows in Kerala. The state government organizes four festival bumper draws — Onam, Vishu, Christmas and Pooja/Dussehra. There are two seasonal jackpots, the monsoon and summer bumper.

No doubt, the communists led government of Kerala should ban lottery system as soon as possible and should be ashamed of running lotteries to cheat poor people from the state.

UP: CM Office Involved in Bikru Kand Related to Vikas Dubey Murder Case

Since all information about Vikas Dubey's case was never out, we are getting information in bits and pieces. It is already a known fact that the current Yogi Adityanath (real name Ajay Singh Bisht) government has been accused of bringing "Thakurvaad" (favoring Rajputs) and being anti-Brahmin (wide spread murder of Brahmins after new govt came to power). The whole "Brahmin Lives Matter" campaign was started (initiated by Congress Party) and it gained traction after the Vikas Dubey murder case.

Now a new fact has come up which indicates that CM Office was involved in killing Vikas Dubey. It is now almost clear that on the night of July 3rd, the Police team went to kill Vikas Dubey and hence he called his friends and killed the Policemen instead. All details were not out yet, but now the latest report and viral audio clip from the phone of dead CO Devendra Mishra proves it:

It seems that this senior IAS officer had called up Devendra Mishra (after he was killed) to confirm that he had died and the news about the killing was true. Therefore, it is clear that CM Office was involved in the initiative to kill Vikas Dubey from day-1.

This fact now tells about a conspiracy against Vikas Dubey and his other colleagues (all Brahmins) and the brutal manner in which the Police killed all of them in alleged Fake Encounters is a blot in the face of Indian justice system.

We should demand justice in this case by calling out UP Government and Ajay Singh Bisht's administration for killing Vikas Dubey and his associates in cold blood. All Policemen involved in the series of Fake Encounters, and all senior officers and politicians giving them direction to kill, should be brought to justice. If Yogi Adityanath had personally ordered the fake encounters, he should be brought to justice too.

UP Shame: Govt Playing Low Level Politics to Haunt Vikas Dubey's Widow

The manner in which Vikas Dubey and his associates were killed in cold blood by UP Police is a proof in itself that the Yogi Adiyanath (real name Ajay Singh Bisht) government wanted these people dead. In fact, it is now becoming very clear that the UP Police went to kill Vikas Dubey on July 3rd night and that is why Vikas Dubey got them ambushed in self defense. The gruesome manner in which all of Vikas Dubey's associates were killed later on is a blot in the face of Indian legal system.

While an SIT was formed to probe the "Fake Encounter" of Vikas Dubey, we have not heard much about any progress it ever made. It is clear that since the Government itself got all the Fake Encounters done, why would the govt allow the SIT or any probe to catch their crime? The futility of judicial probe and the helplessness Indian judiciary is facing can be clearly seen in this case. Entire world knows that Vikas Dubey was killed in a Fake Encounter by UP Police, but our country's legal system can't establish this truth. "Satyamev Jayate" is at question in this case.

In a latest event, UP Government is filing case against Vikas Dubey's widow for possessing SIM Cards taken in other people's names. This may sound silly, but it is true.

[Source: Amar Ujala].

In the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, when it became clear that Sushant's sister had given him medicine based on telephonic prescription which is illegal, government or the CBI did not take any action against her. Rhea Chakraborty then filed an FIR and everyone believed that the FIR should be quashed because these were "petty crimes".

If giving medicine to Sushant Singh based on fake prescription was not wrong and should be pardoned, why should government take Vikas Dubey's widow using a number taken in other person's name to be serious crime? It is clear that the UP government headed by Ajay Singh Bisht a.k.a. Yogi Adityanath is haunting and trying to frame and destroy Vikas Dubey family members.

Since Indian judicial system is helpless in bringing the culprits of Fake Encounters to the books, the culprits are going ahead with more of their designs. The manner in which UP government killed Vikas Dubey and his associates illegally in cold blood was disgraceful and the manner in which they are haunting Vikas Dubey's widow is a total shame too. If Indian legal system stops working inside Uttar Pradesh borders, there are higher power which work and we can be sure that "Karma" will catch all culprits sooner or later.

Shame: Caste Based Reservation in Military (Sainik) Schools

Military Schools (Sainik Schools) in India will now reserve 27 per cent of their seats for a set of castes called 'Other Backward Castes' (OBCs) starting with the 2021-22 academic year. There are 33 such schools and they are run by the Sainik Schools Society, an autonomous organisation under the Defence Ministry.

Now in these Military Schools, 15% seats are for Scheduled Castes (SCs), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe Castes and 27% will be for 'other backward castes' (OBC).Source: IE

Caste based reservations are a blot on the face of Indian democracy because this policy discriminates the citizens on the basis of their birth based caste and religion. Constitution of India provides for right to equality and it has been long argued by the educated citizens of India to abolish caste based reservation (quota) system, but politicians use caste-based-quota for vote-bank purpose and are in no mood to ensure equality for all Indians.

Caste based reservations in Military Schools is going to compromise merit and weaken Indian Armed Forces, but our government and our politicians are least bothered about these aspects and it seems all that they care about is to win elections by vote bank appeasement politics.

Poona Pact of 1932: The Beginning of "Caste Reservation Politics" and Part of British "Divide and Rule" Policy

Poona Pact: The beginning of "caste reservation politics". It was part of British govt's "divide and rule" policy. Ambedkar was used as a means to divide Hindus on basis of castes, just like Jinnah was to divide Indians on basis of religion.

As part of the British policy to "divide and rule" India by dividing Hindus on the lines of castes and hence make them weaker, the British Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald had taken a decision to give separate electorates to 'depressed castes' for the Election of members of provincial Legislative Assemblies in British India. Mahatma Gandhi was doing a fast until death to stop this law. The British used Ambedkar as a means to end Gandhi's fast. BR Ambedkar was a known critic and hater of Gandhiji, as it is clear from his writings and speeches. Gandhi finally agreed to Ambedkar and ended his fast. A pact was signed at Yerwada Central Jail in Poona (where Gandhi ji was doing his fast). It was signed by Ambedkar on behalf of the 'depressed castes' and by Madan Mohan Malviya on behalf of the 'other caste Hindus' and Gandhi ji.

The terms of the Poona Pact were as follows.

  • There shall be electoral seats reserved for the Depressed Classes out of general electorate. Seats in the provincial Legislatures were total 147. These figures were based on the total strength of the Provincial Councils announced in Ramsay MacDonald's decision.
  • Election to these seats shall be by joint electorates subject (irrespective of castes
  • In the Central Legislature, 18% of the seats allotted to the general electorate for British India in the said legislature shall be reserved for the Depressed Classes.
  • The system of primary election to a panel of candidates for election to the Central and Provincial Legislatures as hereinbefore mentioned shall come to an end after the first ten years unless terminated sooner by mutual agreement under the provision of clause below.
  • The system of representation of Depressed Classes by reserved seats in the Provincial and Central Legislatures as provided for in clauses (1) and (4) shall continue until determined otherwise by mutual agreement between the communities concerned in this settlement.
  • In every province out of the educational grant, an adequate sum shall be earmarked for providing educational facilities to the members of Depressed Classes.

From an article by Source: The Hindu

In late September 1932, B.R. Ambedkar negotiated the Poona Pact with Mahatma Gandhi. The background to the Poona Pact was the Communal Award of August 1932, which, among other things, reserved 71 seats in the central legislature for the 'depressed castes'. Gandhi, who was opposed to the Communal Award, saw it as a British attempt to split Hindus, and began a fast unto death to have it repealed.

In a settlement negotiated with Gandhi, Ambedkar agreed for 'depressed castes' candidates to be elected by a joint electorate. However, on his insistence, slightly over twice as many seats (147) were reserved for the 'depressed castes' in the legislature than what had been allotted under the Communal Award. In addition, the Poona Pact assured a bigger representation of the 'depressed castes' in the public services while earmarking a portion of the educational grant for their uplift.

It is also highly unlikely that a clever politician like Ambedkar would not have weighed the consequences of not signing the Poona Pact. It would also not have been lost on him that Muhammad Ali Jinnah, with the Muslims of India strongly backing him, was watching and waiting to take advantage of the evolving situation.

The Poona Pact had several positive outcomes for Ambedkar. It emphatically sealed his leadership of the 'depressed castes' across India. Most of all he succeeded in making the 'depressed castes' a formidable political force for the first time in history.

As Ambedkar remarked in a 1943 address to mark the 101st birthday celebrations of Mahadev Govind Ranade, all he wanted was “a settlement of some sort”; that he was not “prepared to wait for an ideal settlement”. It is very much in this spirit that he affixed his signature to the Poona Pact.

-----------

Reading about it, we can notice that the Poona Pact was 'win-win' for the British Govt and Ambedkar and a 'loss-loss' for Congress and Mahatma Gandhi. Through the Poona Pact, the British Govt got away with their original 'caste-divide plan' and successfully ended Gandhi's fast. BR Ambedkar on the other hand established himself as the prime leader of 'Dalits' and consolidated them into a political force.

The success of Poona Pact showed that the British could get away dividing Hindus in the lines of castes and they would succeed if they pitted a Hindu against another Hindu, like they did by pitting Ambedkar, a Hindu, against Gandhi or Malaviya, also Hindus.

On the other hand, Congress and Gandhi ji had to concede from their earlier position of protesting against the  Ramsay MacDonald's decision of caste reservation in legislative assemblies. But we can understand that Gandhi ji and Congress did not have much choice than to concede. If they did not agree, India's independence movement would have degenerated into an internal mess with Hindu castes fighting against each other. In order to focus on our freedom movement, they would have given away their position, from which Ambedkar, a Gandhi-hater and who also made his followers quit Hinduism later on, gained prominence.
