Delhi Riots Should Have Been Stopped During Earlier Stages and BJP Led Center Should Get Its Share of Blame

I am deeply anguished at the level of violence during recent Delhi Riots. E.g. one of the victims Ankit Sharma had 400 wounds on his body and his body was dumped in a drain. The death toll is very high. Death of so many people, be it Hindus or Muslims, over such a small issue is really bad.

I support BJP but in case of Delhi riots, as per the available information, I put primary responsibility on "inaction" by Delhi Police. For several weeks, anti CAA protesters were creating trouble at public places but nothing was done.

Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP Govt at center do have accountability for Delhi Riots. It does not help to blame AAP, Congress or Owaisi. I am surprised that Shaheen Bagh protests are still on. What are they waiting for? Shift them to a safe place and vacate public place! Hatred was allowed to simmer in society for too long by not stopping the trouble-creaters. In the end, Kapil Mishra and Pro-CAA protesters took to the streets and riots happened.

Govt, Police, Supreme Court, all were seen as inactive and "soft" on rioters and protesters just because they were Muslims. It was a clear message that they could do anything and won't be punished.

AAP, Congress, Owaisi and Mullahs kept fueling Muslims sentiments. But no action was taken against them. Rioters had burnt buses and public property in Delhi but not much was done to create fear in them.

In videos Delhi Police is seen running away from rioters. When Shaheen Bagh case went to Supreme Court, the court sent mediators - that was the last point which proved even Court was soft against protesters as they were Muslims. I wish the Supreme Court should not have been such lax at this grave issue and I think SC's lax orders did much more harm.

I liked it when Sonia Gandhi asked for Amit Shah's resignation. She is old and herself into lot of trouble. But she took courage to challenge the super-powerful Amit Shah. I respect for her courage, even if I don't support her and her party.

Common people should question Amit Shah, the BJP and the Delhi Police - because if we allow them to avoid accountability, they can do greater mistakes. Playing with lives of common people is not a sport.

Delhi Riots will remain as a blot on the face of splendid Modi Sarkar. Police, HM and BJP led Center are fully responsible for Delhi Riots because of their "inaction" at the early signs and events leading up to it. And it is sad that even now they have not "woken up".

I can only hope that anyone who saw through the events leading up to Delhi Riots and did nothing despite having the power, gets punished for his 'Karma'.

Delhi: AAP's Freebie Model Sustains Due to Delhi's Higher Revenue Collection Thanks to GST and Modi's Digital India

Recently, Delhi's CM Kejriwal claimed that under his party's rule Delhi's revenue collection has doubled and it is primarily because people have "trust" in his party and hence people are paying higher taxes. This is the most "Thuggish" thing I have ever heard recently.

In a country like India where most people do not want to pay any taxes, to think that people are voluntarily paying taxes just because they like a political party - is plain madness. But then Kejriwal is famous for saying mad things.

I checked out a report published in Left-leaning newspaper and below are some of the charts revealing things which Kejriwal and AAP won't like us to know.

#1: Delhi gets maximum revenues from GST and implementation of the e-Way bill (by Modi Govt at Center) has played a key role in boosting collection by increasing better compliance of the GST:

"Sources in the government said that the implementation of the e-Way bill seems to have played a key role in boosting collection by increasing better compliance of the Goods and Services Tax."

"The e-Way bill, the electronic document generated on the GST portal for the movement of goods valued higher than Rs 50,000, has played a key role in preventing evasion. It has also ensured that the transactions complied with the GST laws."

#2: Capex is not increasing in Delhi (because govt is spending higher amount on Freebies like free electricity, water and bus tickets to women voters:

#3: Direct Tax collection has in fact come down and hence it totally negates Kejriwal's thuggish suggestion that people are playing more taxes:

Delhi: Baby Kejriwal: Stop Using Kids for Publicity Stunts

It is said that a picture tells a thousand stories. I had seen the above picture spread on media for some time and thought it was cute. But then I saw its video and seems in modern times we should cancel the old saying and make it "a picture can deceive; but a video tells the whole story".

In the video showing how above picture of "baby Kejriwal" was taken, a lady, perhaps the kid's mother was holding it. The kid looked annoyed, perhaps due to heavy makeup and getup - fake mustache, glasses, an uncomfortable cap, solid color full sweater and a muffler. The mother looked up and showed him something in the sky; the kid followed and tried to spot it - that is how above still picture was captured.

I find it sad that politicians and parents are using kids for publicity stunts.

Delhi: Attack on AAP MLA Naresh Yadav's Convoy Proves How Many AAP Members are From Criminal Background.

As per news from today's newspapers, while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) newly elected MLA from Mehrauli, Naresh Yadav's doing a rally in an open car, one of his subordinates and AAP member Ashok Mann was attacked and killed in firing. (Source: Hindu

As per Police, the attack was the outcome of a personal enmity and Ashok Mann was the only target. In November, an FIR was registered against Ashok under IPC Section for attempt to murder, and attack was related to it.

The attacker wanted to kill AAP Member Ashok Mann because Ashok was involved in a murder of his kin. Ashok must be close to the MLA since he was travelling with him in his open car.

This episode makes us realize that a large number of AAP members are from criminal background. Greedy of state govt's advertisement budget, media houses are not highlighting this.

Everyone with little understanding of the ground realities knows that Arvind Kejriwal is just a "face" and a lot of other leaders of AAP are uneducated and from criminal background. This is clearly reflected in the data. People of Delhi should realize this.

Delhi Elections: With AAP's Victory, Assembly Has More Criminal and Richer MLAs!

If you follow social media or talk to people who are heavy users of social media, you may not know this because no one told you so.

Do you know that with victory of AAP in Delhi assembly elections 2020, the number of MLAs with Criminal Records has "doubled"? Yes, the MLAs with Criminal Records has "DOUBLED" from what were in year 2015!

61% of newly-elected Delhi MLAs have declared criminal cases as compared to 34% in 2015 (Source: The Hindu)

According to an analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), 43 of the 70 newly-elected MLAs, or 61%, have declared criminal cases against them. After the 2015 Assembly elections, the number stood at 24 (of the 70 MLAs) or 34%.

The number of MLAs who declared serious criminal cases, which includes crimes against women, murder, assault and corruption, more than doubled from 14, or 20% of the total, in 2015 to 37, or 53%, in the newly-elected Assembly, ADR said.

Of the 62 AAP MLAs, 38 or 61% have declared criminal cases against themselves in their election affidavits. Among the 43 newly-elected MLAs who have declared criminal cases, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had the highest number of cases — 13.

Nine of the newly-elected Delhi MLAs — eight from the AAP, including incumbent Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, and one of the BJP — declared convictions in various cases.

In terms of their financial backgrounds, 74% of the newly-elected MLAs declared assets of over ₹1 crore, an increase from 63% in 2015. This includes 73% of AAP MLAs. The average assets of MLAs increased from ₹6.29 crore in 2015 to ₹14.29 crore now.

Three AAP MLAs possessed with the highest assets, ADR said. Mundka MLA Dharampal Lakra declared ₹292 crore in assets, followed by R.K. Puram MLA Parmila Tokas, who declared ₹80 crore in assets, and Patel Nagar MLA Raaj Kumar Anand, who declared ₹78 crore in assets.

Delhi Elections: A Taxi Driver's Guide to Explain AAP's Victory

After victory of AAP in the Delhi assembly elections, I was talking to a taxi driver today and here is a brief summary of the conversation in Q&A format.

Q: Did you expect such a big victory for AAP?

Taxi Driver: No one expected this. AAP will not blame EVMs now.

Q: What is the reason that AAP wins assembly elections?

Taxi Driver: It is simple. People realized that all parties are corrupt and all parties are the same. Hence if one of the parties gives them “free” things like free electricity, free bus rides etc, it makes sense to vote for them.

Q: As per last election’s data, people of higher income groups and higher education voted for BJP and people of lower income groups voted for AAP.

Taxi Driver: It is true; everyone knows that. This is the reason “free” things fetch votes.

Q: But this time even BJP and Congress had promised free things. Then why did not people vote for them?

Taxi Driver: Earlier we were told that government will get bankrupt if it gives free things to people. But once BJP and Congress also promised free things, we realized that the bankruptcy reason was not true and govt had enough money to give us free things. So our faith in AAP increased.

Q: But this politics of “freebies” cannot be replicated in other states. Parties in other states cannot afford to give free things for votes.

Taxi Driver: It is true. Delhi is completely urban, people are more homogeneous and educated. Kejriwal is a highly educated person; we see that he has made his plans and strategy of giving free things for votes after giving much thoughts.

Q: So people of Delhi do not believe in any ideology and they will vote for any party which gives them free things?

Taxi Driver: Of course. In the end of the day, the larger issues of the world do not matter to us that much but small things in real life matter to us much. And hence people would vote for parties which gives them money or free things.

Q: But the people of Delhi voted for BJP during Loksabha elections. Same people voted for BJP in LS elections and for AAP during assembly elections. Why?

Taxi Driver: For Loksabha election, who else was an option: Rahul Gandhi? He is a fool! How could people vote for him? And hence people voted for Modi/BJP.

Q: Last Congress government led by Sheila Dixit had done good development work. All these AC buses, modern bus stops, metro project, and other development projects happened during her tenure. But it seems AAP and Kejriwal “defamed” her and hence she lost the election. And much defamation also happened due to “Nirbhaya case”.

Taxi Driver: It is true that Sheila Dixit govt had done much more development. And Kejriwal had given sewing machine to one of the rapists and had set him free.

Q: It appears that Manish Sisodia is the person holding real power in AAP and he takes all decisions while Kejriwal is just the “face” who makes big speeches. Is it true?

Taxi Driver: Yes, it is true. Manish Sisodia is the power center.

Delhi Elections: Why I Send My Worst Wishes to AAP and Kejriwal

The usual practice in politics and sports is to send “best wishes” to opponents when they win (and you lose); because it looks nice. But I am neither a politician nor a sportsperson and hence I can afford to be real and honest.

After Delhi assembly election results, where AAP has won again by a huge majority, I would like to send my “worst wishes” to the party. May the party be not able to run for full 5 years; may Dy. CM Sisodia splits the party into two and Kejriwal is forced to step down from CM’s post. May the state government go bankrupt funding all the “freebies” which it has distributed to get votes. May the Delhi assembly be dissolved, and the union territory is brought directly under Center. In short, I wish the worst for AAP and Kejriwal.

You would like to ask why I hate AAP and Kejriwal so much. The answer is simple: I dislike their politics. AAP’s or Kejriwal’s politics can be summarized in below:

1. The party distributes “freebies” to people to get their votes
2. The party stands with anti-nationals like Shaheen Bagh protesters
3. They party has Leftist/socialist ideology
4. Party leaders like Kejriwal are habitual liars who have no ethics

There is no reason why I would send my “best wishes” to a Leftist anti-national party which stands odds with our national objectives. Hence, AAP and Kejriwal can have my worst but never “best wishes”.

Caste Politics: Supreme Court Upholds Constitutional Validity of SC/ST Amendment Act of 2018

The Chronology of SC/ST Act

The SC/ST Act was enacted on September 9, 1989 by Rajiv Ghandi government just before he lost the election. Rajiv Ghandi was facing charges of corruption and Bofors Scandal and it seems he and his party devised a way to win election by playing Caste Politics. But SC ST act did not help Rajiv Ghandi at all and he lost election (to VP Singh). The rules for the Act were notified on March 31, 1995.

In the March 20, 2018 verdict, the Supreme Court had held that there will be no "automatic arrest" on a complaint filed under the SC/ST Act and had also introduced anticipatory bail provision under the Act.

Then Modi government had passed "SC/ST Amendment Act of 2018", to nullify the effect of the court's 2018 ruling.

A batch of PILs were filed in Supreme Court challenging the validity of the "SC/ST Amendment Act of 2018".

Today, the Supreme Court has upheld the constitutional validity of the SC/ST Amendment Act.

Does Modi Govt get Any Credits for this?

Please note that this stringent act was made by the previous Congress government and Modi govt has only made amendment to ensure that the act remains as it was earlier.

Why SC/ST Act and All Caste-Based Laws Should be Repealed

SC/ST act is an outdated act made for the last century. In modern times SC/STs have got reservations in school/college admissions as well as they get government jobs and other subsidies on the basis of their castes. Such special provisions to help a few castes is violation of fundamental rights of equality in our constitution.

In the true spirits of our constitution government should not bother about castes of our citizens, forget about giving people jobs and college admissions on the basis of castes.

Government should stop promoting a few castes in the name of SC/ST/OBC and all such caste-based laws should be repealed in our country.

Delhi Elections: BJP Newspaper Ad

Delhi Elections: Congress has given a "Walkover" to AAP

In the recently concluded Delhi assembly elections, Congress Party has shown a lackluster performance. It did not campaign enough, it did not move its workers on the ground level best. This was done in national capital region of Delhi, where obviously Sonia and Rahul Ghandi also live and Con Party has enough workers on the ground. What happened? How could Con Party give a "pass" to AAP? If we look at history and background, we shall be bewildered more.

Way back when AAP came to power, Sheila Dixit govt was doing good development work. But it was defamed by Anna Hazare movement over CWG games (where state govt was not even responsible) and Nirbhaya case (where govt had no role). But during election campaign Congressis spitted venom on BJP but not AAP.

Since AAP had once formed govt with Cong, BJP had accused it to be Cong's B-team. Innocent Cong voters assumed it to be true and started voting for AAP. Result? Cong was wiped out of Delhi.

Entire M-community (which votes like herds) which was earlier Cong's vote-bank; started voting for AAP. #CongressWaliDilli became a joke.

I guess Sheila Dixit would still be angry from the skies. The #AAPtards who evicted a good govt are running a thugistan in the name of running a government. The party was discarded wherever else it tried to run for elections. It was defeated in Punjab, it did not move at all in Bihar. It succeeds in Delhi only because it gets all the votes which is supposed to go to anti-BJP parties.

It is a pity that Congress has given a "walkover" to AAP in Delhi assembly election. This way, Congress' resurrection will take centuries.

How to Stop China : Some Thoughts

After recent outbreak of novel Coronavirus in China, some countries have offered monetary help to China. This idea that China needs funds came as a shocker. Who are we kidding. Everybody knows that the evil communist government in China is too rich. We should stop pitying demons!

Once upon a time China did have technology. US/European companies opened plants and centers in China since labor/electricity/input costs were much less. They wanted to beat the competition. There was a race amongst US companies about who reaches China first. They taught technology to China.

My idea is that the civilized world should simply isolate China. Although it is too late, but still China's economy is dependent on "exports". Exports are down and China is down. But "greed" does not allow other countries to ban China.

China has still not mastered English language and hence is not good in services industry. But just like they learnt tech, they will learn English eventually. And then China will be unstoppable. We should wake up and stop feeding the dragon.

Also, I see lot of misinformation. They often club "China & Japan" or "China & India". But Japan is China's enemy. And China is India's enemy too. We need to differentiate, isolate and boycott China. Though it may be difficult in democracy where govts and policies change

At one point, US had done same mistake with Japan which it is doing with China for some time now. The mistake is to "underestimate" your rivals.

And no one likes China. Look at their neighbors. They swallowed Tibet and still occupy Indian lands (after defeating India in 1962 war). They do not know how to make friends. Those are their weaknesses. But they are good at "buying" allies.

China is spreading up to Africa. They are "buying" ruling parties and governments in very small nations like Nepal, Srilanka or SE Asia. They are really thinking "global". Ironically, globalization was invented by the West; while China is truly doing it now; just in an evil way.

Indian Army to spend more on Pension than Salaries; largely due to OROP by Modi Government

For the first time ever, India's Defence Budget for year 2020-2021 allocates more money towards pensions for retired army soldiers and widows (Rs 113,278 crore) than for salaries for soldiers still in the standing army (Rs 111,294 crore) [News].

The "pension" budget has steadily risen since the grant of One Rank, One Pension (OROP) by Modi Government in 2015-2016. That year, it was Rs 60,000 crore for the entire military. For 2020-2021, it will stand at Rs 1.33 trillion.

It is obvious to think that the money spent on pension could otherwise have gone towards equipment modernization. But pension is one of the major attractive features of joining Army and it does provide safety and help to the Army men's families. At the same time Army should think of ways in which this burden could be reduced. For example, if an army man's widow is already working and earning good salary, should she get pension? On the other hand, a widow who is totally dependent on pension for survival should get higher pension. But such level of scrutiny and management of funds would be difficult to achieve.

Politically speaking, OROP was a demand from retired army men for many decades. During previous tenure when BJP led government passed the bill, many political parties and retired army men too accused the govt of not implementing it in the letters as per their wish. But this year's very high pension budget should serve as a reminder to the retired army men or veterans that BJP government has done the best they could. India is still a developing country and we need not increase our defense budget so much that it starts impacting budget allocation to other areas like education and healthcare.
